Once you've completed the initial setup, you don't have to remember to do anything.  If a backup is missed for any reason (e.g. your computer was turned off) we'll send you an email to let you know.

Data is compressed to reduce transfer times and storage costs

By compressing your data, the time it takes to transfer changes to the YouBackup data centre is reduced.  Many broadband packages restrict the amount of data you can transfer in a month - so this helps avoid excess bandwidth charges.  Compressing your data also reduces the amount of space you are using on the YouBackup servers, further reducing your costs.

All your information is 256-bit encrypted

Your data is encrypted using a password of your choice before being transferred over the Internet - even WE cannot access the content of your data (so make sure you remember the password!!)

Data centre in the UK

Our data centre is in North Wales, close to our main office.  If you use other online data backup services, it is most likely that you will have no idea where your data is stored. It could be stored anywhere in the world, in countries where data protection laws and practices are not so stringent as in the UK. You could be exposing your personal or company data to unnecessary risk without realising it.

Easy setup if you have large amounts of data

Although online backup software only transfers data that has changed since the last backup - your first backup will need to transfer ALL your existing data.  This could be 100s of GBs and would literally take weeks to transfer via a standard ADSL broadband line.  With YouBackup, we can arrange for an engineer to visit your site* to take an initial copy of your data using a portable storage device (protected by a password of your choosing before being transported offsite).  This can then be loaded directly onto the YouBackup system.

* Onsite engineer available to companies in the North West. For customers in other areas we can arrange to send out a portable disk for the initial backup to be copied onto and then returned to us where we will load it onto the backup server.

All data can be restored quickly in a disaster recovery situation

Because we have easy access to the data centre - we are able to dump your data to portable storage and bring it round to your office immediately* in the event of total data loss through fire, theft or flood.
